Hi! Congratulations on the release of ‘Heavy’! The album sounds fantastic. What inspired you to create it?

A: I’ve been wanting to make a sound like this for a while now! I’ve done folk, singer-songwriter, R&B and pop sounds in the past-which I love all sounds/genres etc. But I also want to get into rock/punk. I always say, I’m multigenre. I love all sounds and mixing them together.

What is your favorite track on the album and why?

A: “I Don’t Care” because it was at first my least favorite when I first started writing it and now it’s my favorite at the moment. It’s an anthem for basically anything that’s happening in life. You just don’t care anymore, about anyone or anything. That doesn’t mean you’re depressed or upset, you can just take life or whatever bad situation for what it is and move on. It’s also about, not dwelling on things that you have no control over.

Where was it recorded?

A: Philly and South Jersey with my friend/producer/engineer/mixer, Tom Conran. He’s a super talented individual and really brought my music to life!

I’m interested in how you began your musical journey. Did you always know that this was your true passion?

A: I ALWAYS knew that this was/is my passion. I’m obsessed with music. Ever since I could remember, I’ve always wanted to sing and ever since I could talk, I’ve been singing. My first vocal teacher was my great uncle- who was local in the Philly music and acting scene- at age 9. I did band (playing the flute) in elementary and middle school, switched to piano and took piano lessons but throughout all my grade school, high school and college, I was always singing. I was in musical theater, drama club, concert choir and advanced choir in high school and college. I have sung the national anthem probably over 1000 times at this point. I had an opera vocal teacher from age 16 to 20 located on Broad Street in Philadelphia and I still have my current vocal teacher from age 21 to now-who I see once a year or so. I come from a vocal performance background, singing in different languages and all types of genres, however I always knew that I wanted to write and create my own music. I remember writing terrible lyrics and some basic notes against them at like 12 years old and they were just awful haha. But yaknow, practice makes perfect!

Your music blends various styles and sounds in a captivating manner. If given the opportunity, who would be your ideal collaborator and what is the reason behind your choice?

A:Man! Great question! It’s constantly changing. I don’t know, I’ve always wanted to work with Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic or Regina Specktor.

What has been your favorite musical experience so far?

A: Singing on bigger stages at the moment. Don’t get me wrong, singing in small clubs in Philly and NYC was/is dope. Some legendary bands and artists and I have sung on the same stage, when they were starting out too. It’s an intimate, smaller setting and you can feel it in the room, but I can’t move around. I want to feel the music in my body as I’m singing, running or walking around.

Where are you located? Can you describe how the local music scene has influenced your sound in any way?

A:Philly! Philly has an historical music scene that dates back to the opera scene. Philadelphia has its own genre, Philadelphia soul. I am a mezzo-soprano, so I sing more rounded out notes; so R&B has definitely influenced my sound but then again, I love music, period! I really enjoy EVERY genre, even metal.

If you had the opportunity to perform at any venue worldwide, which one would you choose and why?

A: Madison Square Garden-all great legends have performed there!

What was the first album you remember owning?

A: Oh my gosh, I honestly don’t remember… I remember my first cassette tape though, Shania Twain.

Finally, do you have anything to share about upcoming gigs? Also, what are your plans for 2024?

A: I am focused on promoting the EP right now and into next year. I’m looking at some festival opportunities. However, I will post information on all my social media platforms for my fans and anyone else that’s interested once that’s locked in and confirmed!
