Hi! Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your song “The Right Way”? What emotions or experiences led you to write this song?

A: I wrote The Right Way when I realized that knowing step by step a person is like discovering yourself in new ways and this process can open up your eyes about yourself in a very positive way.

Your music has been described as a delicate alt/indie pop that evokes cinematic atmospheres. How do you achieve this unique sound, and what influences your musical style?A: I really like to put various genres in my music taking inspiration from indie pop, rock, folk.. anyway the most important ingredients for me are the choice of specific sounds together with the storytelling, I think this mix can create the right atmosphere.

You’ve been compared to artists like Florence and the Machine, Bat for Lashes, and London Grammar. How have these artists influenced your music?A: They are my main inspirations, their voices and sounds are really the roots from where I take inspiration for my music.

Your song “The Right Way” was recorded between London and Italy and mastered by a multi-Grammy winner based in the US. Can you share more about this international collaboration and how it shaped the final product?A: I love to work with this international team, I like the fact that each of them add a flavor to the song that is unique and I really love that the final result sounds so contaminated and professional.

You started your journey in a small town, playing roles in local theatre musical productions. How has this background in theatre influenced your music and performance style?A: The theatre for me was a place where I could express my feelings without dangers. And so is music. It’s a place where I can express what I feel, what I think in a very free way. Performing since I was very young helped me understanding that I really loved the stage and performing in front of people.

You’re originally from Milan and you sing in English. How does your Italian background influence your music, and why did you choose to sing in English?A: I think being Italian can influence the melodies that I chose for my music but I like singing and writing in English because I feel more free to express myself and because it comes to me very natural.

Can you share more about your songwriting process? How do you go from an initial idea to a fully produced song?A: Most of the time I start with the lyrics but it really depends because in other cases I just have a melody running in my head and then I find the chords for it. There’s not a specific moment of the day or place. I could be anywhere like on a plane or in my music studio or really anywhere. I just start writing down or recording the melody. Then I take the guitar and I start to search for the right chords and rhythm and then I put everything together.

What can fans expect from you in the future? Are there any upcoming projects or releases you can tell us about?A: I’m planning my next steps, in the meantime I’m writing really a lot 🙂

Finally, what message do you hope listeners take away from “The Right Way”?A: I believe everyone experiments the beautiful phase of knowing a new person and the discover of ourselves that comes with it. It may seems that you’re losing yourself in favor of the other person but at the end of the process you realize that you’re finding new beautiful aspects of yourself and that you are somehow knowing yourself better than before. I hope the listeners can relate with the lyrics and their meaning and that they can enjoy the atmosphere of this ballad.
