Hi! You recently released ‘Fortune Favours the Fortunate’ and it’s brilliant. For anyone who’s yet to hear it, how would you describe the track?
This song is to remind the listener that the rich keep getting richer and that in our day to day lives we are being taken advantage of. It’s a bit of a rallying cry to instil upon people that we have a voice and as a group we can make a change.
It’s also about the sound of the song with its rhythm and beat, the song is made to be played to a live audience. It has a kick ass drum beat and the guitars deliver the feel-good factor that will get the listener on their feet and out of their seats.
We want the audience to engage in our performances and through songs like this we hope to move the crowd and get people thinking on an emotional level whilst immersing themselves in the music.
Where did you record it?
It was recorded at a studio called Sound Hub studios in Belper, Derbyshire
Are you planning to make it part of a larger release, such as an EP or album?
This song along with one other song this year will be released as singles. Our intention is to get back in the studio at the end of the year and record enough tracks to release our very first album in 2024.
I’m very interested in how you started your adventure with music, and did you know from the beginning that this is what you wanted to do?
Nathan lead singer – I was introduced to David Bowie and his music unfortunately due to the fanfare of his death . It woke me up to music and showed me the possibility of an ideal world for everyone and I believe that people like him at that time making pure, human , sometimes super human impressions through music were the pioneers of the freedom of expression that we all cherish today. Ever since I have felt compelled to join in. This is where I began teaching myself taking lessons from the greats or at least who I considered to be the greatest.
Your music interweaves so many different styles and sounds. If you could collaborate with anyone in the world, who would it be and why? What’s been your favorite musical experience to date?
Without a doubt, our greatest musical experience was walking out to a massive festival crowd on the main stage at Ynot 2023. This was a significant mile stone in our dream. This festival is very local to ourselves and as such was one of the first ones most of the band started going to as audience members. In terms of collaboration I think top of the pile would be Jack White or Ringo Starr because I think we would make a great team in the studio and produced great music quickly.
Where are you based? Can you tell us how the music scene there has inspired your sound at all?
We are based in Derbyshire / East Midlands and. I think it’s fair to say that prior to the current crop of artists coming through, people of Derbyshire have primaryly been devoted listeners rather than creating the music themselves and telling their own story. This manifest’s within us
If you could perform at any venue in the world, where would it be and why?
Rock City in Nottingham is our initial goal and we can then take it from there to Whisky A Go Go in LA
And what was the first album you remember owning?
Bringing it All Back Home by Bob Dylan which I then traded Nirvana MTV Unplugged at New York
Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming gigs, and what have you got planned for the rest of 2023?
We are playing gigs in London, Nottingham and Derby with the hope of securing gigs in Sheffield, Manchester and Birmingham as well. We have plans to reorganise our website and start creating more merchandise for our growing fanbase and preparing for the new album next year. We realise that the fans are everything and want to make sure they can be as involved in this journey as much as possible.
